Community Cafe'
The second Thursday of each month is Calvary Day at Community Cafe. We provide lunch for the homeless as well as anyone in the community that would like to have lunch. We need individuals that would like to prepare food, serve food, pray, visit and eat with those who come to eat or with those who will stop in for take-out only. We have a special need for people at 1:00 p.m. to help clean up. Come join us!
Since the Hope Center has closed, we will temporarily be working out of the Salvation Army building for our monthly second Thursday Calvary Day at Community Cafe. If you’re interested in being a part of the New and Improved Community Café, Scott Foster, is the new director and has a heart for the underprivileged in Murfreesboro. This would be a great time to jump on board with this wonderful ministry if you haven’t previously been involved.

In the Summer, (JUNE-AUG), we collect money from Key Groups to purchase chicken as a nice change. We also ask for baked beans along with canned green beans and corn. You may prepare the side dishes or simply leave them in the can and drop the cans off in the office kitchen.
Each month in the Fall, Winter and Spring we ask for a Chicken and Dressing Casserole, (9X13) as well as Commercial Size Green Beans or Corn. A sheet will come around in Key Group and Sunday School for you to choose what to bring and to sign up.
Suggested Chicken and Dressing Recipe: 1 pkg Pepperidge Farm cornbread stuffing mix 1/2 c butter, melted 1 lb chicken breast, boil until tender, bite size pieces (save broth) 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 sm container sour cream Mix stuffing mix with melted butter in 9 x 13 dish, add chicken on top. Mix soup with 1 1/2 cup broth and sour cream. pour on top of chicken. Bake 1 hour @ 350 until brown Pour remaining broth toward end of baking.
